Auto Injuries

Injury cases often involve multiple overlapping systems including the cervical spine, musculoskeletal structures, and neurological function. Evaluation focuses on identifying the primary drivers of symptoms following trauma such as motor vehicle accidents.

Concussion Management

Concussion symptoms can arise from disruption across multiple systems including cognitive processing, balance pathways, vision, and cervical function. Management focuses on identifying affected systems and guiding recovery through targeted clinical care.

Musculoskeletal complaints often involve joint dysfunction, soft tissue strain, movement imbalance, and mechanical stress throughout the spine and extremities. Care focuses on improving mobility, reducing discomfort, and restoring functional movement.

Education, Training & Clinical Certifications

Professional Education & Credentials

I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland University - Kansas City, graduating Magna Cum Laude in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in 2013. This distinction reflects consistently high academic performance throughout both undergraduate and doctoral training, with a strong emphasis on the biomedical and clinical sciences.

During my studies, I completed extensive coursework in human anatomy, neuroanatomy, physiology, biomechanics, spinal health, orthopedics, neurology, diagnostic imaging, and evidence-informed clinical practice. My training emphasized the integration of musculoskeletal and neurological principles, particularly how injury, dysfunction, and biomechanical stress can influence pain, movement, and overall neurological function.

The Doctor of Chiropractic program at Cleveland University-Kansas City is recognized for its rigorous, evidence-based curriculum and extensive clinical training. It is designed to prepare doctors for comprehensive patient evaluation, functional and orthopedic assessment, radiographic interpretation, rehabilitation planning, and coordinated conservative management of complex neuromusculoskeletal conditions.

In recognition of clinical excellence during my doctoral training, I was awarded the Clinical Achievement Award, presented to students who demonstrate exceptional performance in clinical competency, patient care, professionalism, and applied clinical reasoning.

In addition to my academic degrees, I am board certified, reflecting successful completion of national board examinations and demonstrated competency in chiropractic clinical knowledge, diagnosis, and patient care standards. Board certification signifies adherence to nationally recognized benchmarks for clinical safety, assessment, and evidence-based practice.

I am currently licensed in the state of Missouri, where I provide clinical evaluation and management of musculoskeletal injuries, spinal conditions, and neurologically based disorders.

My combined education, academic honors, clinical recognition, board certification, and active licensure provide a strong foundation for the evaluation and management of complex musculoskeletal injuries, spinal conditions, and concussion-related dysfunction.

Whiplash & Spinal Trauma Certification

I have a certificate of completion in Whiplash Injury Biomechanics & Traumatology through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. This advanced postdoctoral training focused on the biomechanics of motor vehicle collisions, cervical acceleration-deceleration injuries, spinal trauma, and the soft tissue injury patterns frequently seen after crash-related forces.

The curriculum emphasized evidence-based assessment of spinal injuries, analysis of crash mechanics, and the clinical and functional consequences commonly associated with whiplash-associated disorders and mild traumatic brain injury.

SRISD is internationally recognized for its work in crash injury research and professional education related to spinal trauma and injury prevention. For decades, the institute has provided specialized training programs for healthcare professionals centered on the science of whiplash traumatology, cervical spine injury, and collision biomechanics.

Through this training, I studied the mechanisms and epidemiology of whiplash and concussion injuries, occupant kinematics during motor vehicle crashes, and the various neuromusculoskeletal conditions that may develop following acceleration-deceleration trauma. The coursework also included detailed instruction in physical examination procedures, injury documentation, biomechanical analysis, and clinical evaluation relevant to personal injury and post-collision care.

The program was developed under the leadership of Arthur C. Croft, who is widely regarded as one of the leading experts in whiplash traumatology and crash injury biomechanics. Dr. Croft played a major role in the development of modern evidence-based guidelines for the evaluation and management of whiplash-associated disorders and has authored numerous textbooks, peer-reviewed publications, and educational materials related to spinal trauma and mild traumatic brain injury.

Advanced Concussion Training

I have completed advanced concussion training through Complete Concussions, an internationally recognized concussion education and rehabilitation organization focused on evidence-based assessment and treatment of mild traumatic brain injury. Their educational programs are utilized by healthcare professionals working with concussion patients across sports medicine, motor vehicle injury, occupational injury, and neurological rehabilitation settings.

I was the first doctor in the Kansas City region to complete this level of advanced training through Complete Concussions, reflecting a strong commitment to comprehensive, evidence-based concussion evaluation and rehabilitation.

The Complete Concussions curriculum provides extensive postdoctoral training in the multi-system evaluation and management of concussion injuries. This includes detailed assessment of the vestibular, oculomotor, cervical spine, autonomic, exertional, and cognitive systems that are commonly affected following mild traumatic brain injury. The training emphasizes current research, objective clinical testing, differential diagnosis, and individualized rehabilitation strategies designed to identify and address the underlying physiologic contributors to persistent concussion symptoms.

Through this advanced training, I developed a comprehensive understanding of the complex neurological and biomechanical processes involved in concussion injuries, including how cervical trauma, vestibular dysfunction, visual disturbances, autonomic dysregulation, and exercise intolerance can contribute to prolonged recovery. The program also included instruction in evidence-based examination procedures, return-to-activity protocols, symptom tracking, and rehabilitation planning for both acute and chronic concussion presentations.

Complete Concussions is widely recognized for helping advance modern concussion management beyond symptom-based care alone by promoting a systems-based and function-focused approach to brain injury rehabilitation. Their educational model integrates current neuroscience, clinical rehabilitation principles, and objective testing methodologies to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes following concussion injury.

CORE (Concussion Rehabilitation & Exercise) Program

Over the past several years, I have pursued advanced education and clinical training focused on concussion evaluation and rehabilitation. Building on a rehabilitation framework I developed called the CORE Program, which stands for Concussion Rehabilitation & Exercise, my clinical approach emphasizes the systems commonly affected after brain injury, including vestibular function, oculomotor control, balance, cervical mechanics, fine motor coordination, motor speed, and progressive functional exercise. The goal is to provide a comprehensive, individualized pathway that supports recovery, improves function, and helps patients return to daily life with greater confidence.
